brand documentary magazine....

Brand. Balance.  I came across this magazine online today and couldn't buy one fast enough. well....you know that's because of the brand Porter that I love so much and wanted to read ALL ABOUT. ha   but I've always been a magazine connoisseur of sorts and was fascinated that this was a documentary magazine without any adds nor supported by the subject of each issue in any way.  Interesting. I started googling and found one online for $15 from the B Magazine Website, but the shipping was so high, so I checked with the price at needsupply.com and their higher price and shipping came out to be just over the same amount, same with a place in Canada. so I said, hmmm might as well order straight from the source.  Looking forward to reading this!
I"d even consider subscribing, but the site is somewhat confusing , they say a subscription rate is $140, which is 10% off the newsstand price of $156 (10 issues, 2 double issues at $18, 8 at $15). However there is a note saying that the shipping is charged each month so really you could be paying twice the amount which is unclear.... I won't be subscribing soon, but look forward to reading my copy of B. :)  The next issue out is Berlin. Apparently a city is a brand, and I'd actually be interested in reading that issue.  Man,  how I wish I could go to Berlin.  After watching the video of Berlin done by the magazine, I posted on a social network "Anyone want to up and move to Berlin with me?"  a city 4 times larger than Paris with 1/3 of the people? is that true?  I"d think there would be many Syrians going there these days which would make it an even more interesting location perhaps.  Berlin, anyone? :)    ...........(Go FULL Screen for the video below)

weekend pairs...............

Spring yet?...

is it Spring yet?  I never get too excited about shopping in spring/summer.  As the seasons begin to change and warm up, I wear my standard shirts/ties to work and then for summer I have all my favorite already owned tshirts and shoes to look forward to wearing. :)  Fall and Winter is when it's all about layering and having more components to have fun to combine to work together.
well anyway, these shirts are on Desigual, which is not all that big of a deal in quality and design really, and actually somewhat overpriced for stuff made out of cotton or acrylic etc.. BUT for Spring, I would wear the second shirt above for something flashy to work or maybe Easter Sunday for fun.

teacher targeted in AR..........

I related somewhat with this story "Gay Teacher Fired After Hacker Posts Sex Tape on School Website" I came across online. just a regular guy teaching high school math class in good ole Little Rock, AR (beautiful city that has a real community feel for such a big city!).  He apparently had a sex tape of he and his partner online somewhere and then someone hacked into his account and deliberately posted the video to the school website. yikes! of course he was fired.  He's fighting now for the state of AR to have stronger hate crime laws.  you can read the article linked above or here is a link to the gofundme page IF INTERESTED.... :)
There's a little something in this that backs up why I never really though I should apply at the private college I'd been thinking about recently. the state college I am at now is way more diverse, so to speak.

what I don't have............

I think I've already posted this video but I posted it to someone for a birthday greeting today on social media. and then I watched it a few times at work and then again at home tonight. I like noticing some details, like the girl hands him an astronaut toy and then the poster on the wall is a You are Here in space poster...next he's leading up into the party and there are Reeces Pieces on the floor which is a nice nod to E.T. :)  and as he walks into the party, he's picked up the rose and has it stashed behind his back..after that I just love all the dance moves, at first I was all...why does the have a ski coat on at the party, then I realized, oh it's a ski costume.  not a bad song either.
I worked out legs today at the gym, I have trouble really getting a mojo on working out my bird legs. but I did all the things I do, leg press, leg curls, leg extension, then single alternating leg squats ( I'm ectomorphic and don't want to hurt my knees doing big weights squats but sometimes I'll do both legs..)  anyway after that, I like to do dead lifts with 35 on each side of the bar, sometimes I'll alternate dead lift with squat lifts, I'd been noticing this one kid on the gym floor who sort of has a hot body like Jake Ryan but with an ass, except he's more nordic with button eyes, his hair has that shaved right up to the part style going on now.  anyway his dad is my age I'm pretty sure and in great shape sort of that big arm big torso in shape look and works out up there very now and then but not every day like the kid... today on my second set of dead lifts I saw the father come over and bump into his son and joke and laugh about something and I said to  myself, that's it I'm done, I'm going home. and I walked to the lockeroom and grabbed my stuff and left. :P
really nice day here and I came home and walked around the yard and watered some stuff and made some plans for spring. going to be grading papers tonight, ESL classes at the church were cancelled for a ash Wednesday service.

February already!

l week went by pretty nicely and I hope this one will too. I went to a stock club meeting last Monday night, which was interesting. we got some charts and graphs about how the economy isn't all that bad off really and not to worry too much.  we talked about the election and I asked about whether the results would affect my stock in Genworth which I bought under $2 in 2008 and it got up to $18 and now it's getting back down near $2. go figure. obviously I never had any idea what I was doing to begin with, and our bank guy who heads up the meetings said that it takes a strong disciplined sell plan!! ha all in hindsight. boo hoo.
I am getting used to the new semester and getting to know students.  They seem to be warming up to my teaching style and doing the work. (those who come to class that is).  I made lots of phone calls last Friday on my office hours only day, calling and asking if students were returning etc etc...
Last weekend was nice and steady, Friday night stayed in, Saturday afternoon graded papers and out in the yard. pizza lunch as usual. My buddy S came by and we went to the outlet mall and walked around a bit. I got a cheap pair of Fossil sunglasses then we ate at a restaurant over near there. Had a really good chat and catch up time talking about everything going on etc.  He'd had an experience the weekend before with some house-guests that involved an accident in the pool with a dog. all is fine now.
went in strong today teaching as planned. swam laps after work. I saw the same two guys who were finishing up the same as me last week on Friday.  two light skinned Latin guys speaking Spanish and short and very buff and built with some tattoos and one with a beard a bit muscular.  very nice, well today they were back and as I was getting dressed to work out ( my swim laps are a warm up 15 minutes worth is all), I made some conversation in Spanish and found out the hot beaded one was Colombian. thus the distinct sounding Spanish I'd noticed. worked out chest today nicely.  A military guy there from muskogee was telling me about his son that had a tumor removed from behind his knee etc... I lost my swim suit on the way out , and went back to ask the laundry towel guy because I'd thrown it in with my wet towel. UGH.. he said it was in the washer machine so they'll put my name on it so I can get it back tomorrow. oh well.
tonight i went to a neighborhood committee meeting.  It was just okay, we got our dates worked out for this year, the block party cookout, the yard of the month judging dates, the Halloween candy block trick or treat thing, and then it just went on fro there with the guy in charge own agenda.. basically the city is building a big ole new library and he feels they should take care of sewage lines and street repair first etc etc.  I brought up what about more police. I left before it was over because it was already after 8pm, we're supposed to be out in an hour.
I'm excited that Spring is coming. I can't wait to get the semester over worth and be back out in my yard again. I'll probably teach another intercession class though in May ah well.. more $$ for home repair hope everyone is enjoying the week! :)

man up Monday.........

gymspiration Sunday............

Loopwheeler dreams.................

If you're not familiar with Loopwheeler, it's a Japanese brand that use old machines to create a great cotton product.  If you ever owned the extrememly awesome Champion brand sweatshirts that made in this way, you'll understand the quality.  It's a timely process and now modern machines make them faster but never with this same design/quality.  I'm currently fascinated with these striped shirts, most likely because of something not available for purchase in this day of online shopping and international shipping. ha!  They do have an Amazon Japan account if you're interested in attempting a purchase of a great comfy best made sweatshirt. :) if possible, I'd probably go for the multi colored hoodie below. :P I'm still all about travelling to Paris or Barcelona again someday, but if I suddenly pop up in Japan, you'll know one of the reasons why........ ha

big day!
