young blond gymspiration....

great weekend with company...

what an exciting Thanksgiving weekend!  Although it was strange to have two worlds collide and come together with my best bud H from Austin in town with his bf at the same time my ex gf T from college was staying with me, the four of us had a great time, I got to know H's bf and H got to chat away and get to know T. T arrived late afternoon Wednesday and I'd been off all day getting the house cleaned up all the last minute things like the back laundy room picked up and vaccummed and the house vaccumed and the bathroom for real cleaned up for company. also went to the whole foods store and got some flowers to put in vases in each of the bedrooms. After T arrived we talked for quite a while and then she gabbed with me while I was putting all my clothes on my bed away in my room where H and his friend stayed, and then in the other room she handed me things to put up in the attic in that room. I've been sleeping on the hideabed couch in the front room all weekend. it is a very old iron frame and mattress from YEARS ago. I slept on this same hideabed when I was a little kid with my brother at my grandparents cabin at Cedar lake , that long. anyway, I've found just the right sort of diagonal position to  sleep on it sort of on my side that doesn't completely kill my back. ha
So Friday night T and I stayed up late talking after dinner and then making some chocolate cookies with rolo candies in the middle for me to take to the family thanksgiving.  One of my sisters and 2 nieces had asked to please bring them again.:)  We turned in around 11:30 and H and Marcus got here really late about 1:30 am I think.  we all had breakfast and then T and I left to my folks' place, 37 this year of my parent's clan including my mom's sister and then ALL the siblings, nieces and nephews and their spouses and some with kids. H went to his family's place in okc nd we all met back around 8pm to chill and relax.zzzz
Today we got up and had breakfast and chilled a while, went to lunch at my fave local place and then shopped a little bit in town, then home and T and I went out and got dinner while H went to his parents' home for dinner.. we met back here at 8. T and I were making 2 batches of French Macarons, and once that was done, we all played Hearts for a while. then finally to bed. ... they are all going back tomorrow around lunch time and then I'll get the house back to myself and wow it will be so cleaned up all over. ha I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. of course I remain so thankful for my job! and my family ! and friend far and wide. cheers.

keep shoppin'.....

winterwear......?

Why am I cursed with searching out online and finding obscure unobtainable yet wanted things to wear... ha! last year I was sort of obsessed with Norse Projects, and this year it's Han Kjobenhavn.  THe sunglasses I found on ebay and might actually try and get 'em , I dunno. but the wool shirt above. I'd love to show up somewhere in that thing! and the shoes!! but come on, $500 for a shirt or pair or shoes.... that's not in my universe no way! but a man can imagine wearing such.  the sweater, I just like the blue and the baby blue sleeves to play off the color of my eyes. :P man could I wear the heck out of those shoes though!!! sigh....

I'm including photos below of this Knight hoodie selling on Etsy for $200. they are made to order and not necessarily my style, but check out how fun they look.

dirty dancing wedding...

ruff men....

pre holiday er..... warm up??

man what a fun weekend.... Friday after classes and then swimming laps in the campus pool, I had office hours from 11 -12 as usual, and my parents came to see me and my office. was great! we were going to go out for lunch afterwards but it was sleeting and getting slick on the roads so they went back home and I left to get some errands done before it got too bad.
I drove up north side OKC to the Whole Foods store to get caster sugar and almond flour, also some cookies from the cookie bar of course. :P  returned home and around 4pm, I found out from buddy S that we were still on for going to the movies (along with bud J who just move back from houston). we'd decided to meet at the mall for an early 4:40 pm showing of Catching Fire, the sequal to Hunger Games. however tickets were sold out, and for most any other times after that, we got into J's car and drove over to Tinseltown movies which is sort of a ghetto movieplex on the NE side of town, BUT we found a 5:15 showing and tickets before 6pm only 4.25! woo hoo... It wasn't even packed at all since the roads were still getting bad out. the film was awesome and the 2.5 hours flew by. I watched the first film last weekend on netflix so I was all caught up. after that we ate dinner at Hideaway pizza and caught up with J and his new job and where he might end up buying a house etc...
Saturday I stayed home and cleaned stuff and picked up and then started my baking project with ingredients found at whole Foods.  French Macarons! they turned out all right except I got a little too experimental on the filling with powdered milk and some pomegranite Crystal light flavoring which didn't taste too great from the bowl, but tasted better on the cookie.
Last night Saturday we all met at Dave and Geoff's for S's birthday dinner. his bf came to town Sat morning and had arranged for food to be picked up from Iron Star Grill, so S, his bf, J, me, Dave and Geoff, and an older couple in town Mike and Bruce, also a friend of ours that I always see at my gym named Cody.  We all got caught up and chit chatted away and laughed at jokes and watched the OSU game beating Baylor...
today was sleeting ice all morning so I stayed in from going to church. I watched a few sermons from my church online instead. :)  and then now I'm just listening to the musical Chess performed on Youtube in 12 parts of videos. ha, I like hearing Josh Groban singing Anthem. I used to play that on the piano and try to belt it out. freezing cold today, I plan to stay in and catch up grading a few late papers that were turned in and then vacuum and some point to warm up a bit. hope everyone is getting ready for a great Thanksgiving! :)
