hidden lake gardens...

I love saturdays....

hey everyone, have a good weekend. i'm having a fine time here in Michigan. yesterday I went running around town in my exgf's car and it's really nice with the lakes all over the place. perfect weather here.
yesterday afternoon we drove with her parents to Hidden Lake Gardens sw of here in Tipton, MI. excellent day.  last night we watched "The Host" together in the basement while eating order out pizza. so relaxing.
btw that movie was pretty slow, but overall I enjoyed the creative storyline... I'm not sure how they got William Hurt in the movie, unless that explains the low budget because everything went to his salary... ha.
I liked the concept but overall it seemed like a chick flick twilight zone episode that was stretched out into a movie.  however the ending had some nice twists and of course there were 2 hot guys in love with the same girl, does that motif sound familiar??? I was team Jared all the way...
well, today we are driving a bit more to Milford, and then staying home most of the afternoon to get the house ready for a big party they planned, a come and go for their friends and such to come by and say hi while my ex is in town.tonight the party.
I've had a few friends on social media ask if I'm starting work next Monday since OKC school begin Mon and here I am out of town in Michigan. ha... I haven't announced my job yet to all my friends on that social media site, because I was waiting for two things to post. first, this next Wednesday, the day I report for new faculty training, I plan to change my employed by to the college and see if anyone notices. ... the other idea was when I get my office at the college then I had an idea of taking a picture of me in front of the door with my name on it and tag it "the professor is in!". ha ... but anyway, I have been messaging the 2 people who asked and told them NO not returning to high school and YES i have a new job. woo hoo!
Did anyone notice this story about U.S. Soliers posting to craigslist?  I was thinking how it was sort of non news... and then after reading it a second time I was thinking that I guess rules are rules, but easily to get around if you don't post nude photos.. I dunno, but would the same scrutiny be given or HAS it been given to heterosexual guys hooking up on craigslist with photos and such... pretty lame witch hunting if you ask me. but on the other hand, it's sort of cool they have freedom to more publicly go out and look for fun, makes you sort of wonder if more tension release is going on among the hardbodied troops... :P

locker room show....

the Apollo has landed.........

Hello from Michigan!  I'm in Walled lake west of Detroit.  had a very long day driving here yesterday. Curt, yes we did just drive by Chicago without going to the city. our path was from st louis up 55 and then to 80 going through Jolliet and then 94 up through kalamazoo on our way to Lansing where we met the ex gf's relatives for dinner before an hour drive over to where her parents live.
We had lunch in Tinley Park along the way and had lunch at Ed & Joe's Pizza place. we both orderd the grilled chicken panini and were served the Waldorf Chicken panini instead.... the waitress purported there was only one on the menu and we didn't make a fuss. it was really good, but T hates bleu cheese so I guess suffered through. ha anyway. good nice quick lunch and a cute little town to stop by... our next stop was because we needed a bathroom break and this was near Michigan City.  She was getting frustrated that there weren't nice big truck stops along the way right off the highway. ha so she followed a Mcdonald's sign at an exit which took us 3 miles W into Michigan City, and then the guy at the gas station there, when we asked, said the lake was just 2 minutes more west etc...
Well I'd never seen the great lakes and T said was saying well yeah lets go! She was convinced that the time zone had already changed on her phone and that we were making excellent time and had the free time. (we didn't as we found out later.... ha).
But it was well worth it when we hit near the lake, we weren't sure where to park, and couldn't see anything, we ended up in a sort of neighborhood just parking and getting out. walking toward the dunes down a street of apartments and lake type little cabins and houses, and then found a sandy path. up the hill and !!!!! the lake!!!! so beautiful and big!!! wow, I loved it an nice long sandy beach and a light house north of us and water water everywhere in front. it was Lake Michigan!  so we'd already taken our shoes off walking up and down the grass covered sand dunes. we walked around and took many many pics. it was a lot of fun and the weathe was all overcast and cloudy and calm and beautiful and relaxing and blue/grey.
got back in the car and continued on our way... she called her mom to say we'd be there in a couple hours for dinner around 630 and her mom said, that's 730, and I pointed out that her car (subaur outback btw) clock said 4:25 and so we were still an hour behind, oops. ha no big deal, we just arrived later than she'd planned and met up for dinner at Chedder's.  straight home to her folks' and then I crashed!!
up this morning and ready to be shown the town the next couple of days. this is my first to cross the Mississippi by land and go so far east.  I have no idea what they all have planned for us to do but I'm just along for the ride. T and I had many more intimate discussions yesterday in the car. for example how I go 2 to 3 days in "control of my domain" if you know what I mean and how she goes about once a week. strange convo, also she asked me the usual questions about being gay, and what's the hardest part about not being gay or something like that... also we discusses living single and her getting married again and me growing up not seeking the whole relationship with guys because of my confusion and what I want now whether I could still have one with a guy or girl etc... discussed her marriage and divorce.  discussed what we agreed on married men being faithful to the commitment made whether they lusted for other women or men, and I tried to explain where as she thoughe men thought about sex every minute of the day as having sex with any woman they saw or touched wasn't exactly that, and how I thought it meant that guys are capable at any random moment to think of sex during the day and that didn't mean always have sex, but it could mean just look that body, or body part, or what would that looks like naked, or what are they like during sex? or picturing people having sex with other people, anyway, my point was that she thought every man thought about having sex with anyone that crossed their path all day long. ha just thoughts.

road trip '13

good morning from St. Louis!
drove in last night around 7 from AR with the ex gf.. I had an awesome time in Minneapolis last weekend btw. got home Sunday and chilled for a day and more until driving up to AR Monday night.  had a great time yesterday morning hanging out with my friend's two boys all morning and running an errand in town and stopping by to say hi to a few college buds and even had time to drive by two of the houses I lived in during college before getting back for breakfast. ha  after hanging out with my friend and the kids all morning I got over to T's house and packed up her car with our stuff for the trip.
we stopped off at a favorite lunch place in town first, and wouldn't ya know it I run into my best bud J, who I hadn't planned on seeing because of schedule and gave him a hug etc... another great moment was a college friend from town who lives in Munich now just happened to be in town visiting. he actually dated T a few times, well anyway we all caught up and talked and delayed out getting out of town, but well worth it. he was in there with a former college roomie of mine K, and two other guys from the area I hadn't seen since college days.  that was so random and awesome. only in a small town! ha
well T and I talked and conversed the whole way up here yesterday, and listened to some music and made pit stops when needed. I found out and learned a lot more about her than I had before about some of the guys she dated in college and what all she'd experienced with guys at that time.  I guess I never realized the amount of fooling around going on in college, I swear I grew up so naive about how far couples went before having sex at a Christian college, and of course many did. but still I just hadn't realized some of that stuff... eye opening and frank talk. I discussed the same about the girl I dated in college. and explained a little about guys but she doesn't really want to hear that, and as a guy we ALWAYS want to talk about sex stuff so I have to radar myself. anyway we arrived and stayed the night here at her uncle and aunt's house in St Charles, it's actually the street exactly where the tornado touched down May 31st!
Not sure if I mentioned this lady from Canada that I sat next to on the bus last weekend in Minneapolis.  She was pretty funny, a retired teacher, well anyway, i was making a sort of joke about how when I taught in Central America, we would always jokingly say if you had a question about American history, a president, or state capitol, that you should ask one of the Canadian teachers we worked with, because the Americans ( a bad term for US citizens as well since Canada is also America) didn't always remember or know!!  She really didn't think it was that funny. ha but she did say how they learned ALL that stuff in school and how weird it was nothing was taught about Canada much in the US and true even American history we're not always that sharp on...  She then asked me if I could name the provinces, and I said aren't there like 4 or 5 big ones? NO! ten! ha ha. so we laughed about it and then she taught me the names of all ten. I'd heard them before, just couldn't name them off.  I can now, I even practiced in the car yesterday with T.
well this morning we are headed off to Detroit, maybe lunching on the way in Chicago. should be a fun stop. have I mentioned I've never been this far east before on the road? excited to see the city and Arch as we drive through this morning, and Chicago and then getting up into Michigan. We're arriving to a place NW of Detroit to meet her parents and an aunt and uncle for dinner. looking forward to it. :)
