lazy...

this is a photo of all the shoes under my table last night, basically about a week's worth or more of coming home and sitting here and taking off my shoes before putting on my gym shoes. This pic was from after I took off my gym shoes, the Adidas, an old old pair I bought on ebay while in Afghanistan. man it is REALLY time to replace those shoes with something updated, like the new neon colored ones I'm seeing on all that guys at the gym maybe... ha
.

universal...

someone let me know what's going on in the video...I mean the theme/story/inspiration?

sunga!

Alas......

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.

Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.

Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,

So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

hump day over

great day. got a lot covered and a lot of papers graded blah blah, basically today was about the difference between rotate and revolve. Basically talking about earth, sun, moon. We also did diagrams of equivalent fractions and in my second year class we learned how to make a resume. week half over with. WOO HOO.
I was talking at lunch about how I liked the way my shoes matched my sweater, and my co teacher/ friend said if I didn't know you like I do, I'd say that is so gay. ha ha and we all laughed. That was weird. I just laughed realizing yeah whatever and also laughing thinking so they really don't think I'm gay? ha pretty funny. I guess I could cool it with my ocd about getting my outfits all together for work. I mean not everyday but I do put a few together I'm probably way too proud of some days. ha! I wrote an email to the principal yesterday about what we can do get the teachers to stop parking on the grass when it's muddy and driving back and forth in front of our building leaving a muddy rocky mess for students and all to walk through to our building, basically asking that they are more proactive and aggressive in getting no parking there established when it rains!!
also for a week and half, we've had no boys bathroom in our building. they locked it down after the light switch got ripped out. They opened it after school today so I'm sending an email out to our building tomorrow asking the teachers to PLEASE keep students IN THE CLASSROOM during class and I'll lay it on thick to train kids to use bathroom between classes and keep them IN CLASS during class etc etc. I also plan to send a very dry email, with screen prints of our schools system for entering tardies as a snide way of telling teachers to count tardies and get kids IN THEIR CLASSROOMS ON TIME. that reminds me, I wrote an email to the vice principal in charge of the safety committee yesterday also about how much safer the school would be with all students in classes and accounted for instead of walking around the school during class and lingering everywhere after the bell rings.... i mean it seems common sense right?
btw last night I had the adjunct prof meeting all night and it went pretty well. I met some profs I'd never seen before which is usual and had lots of fun comparing notes about our classes. THere was this one nice nice looking built guy around my age, and when he walked by in the hall as we were all leaving to our different rooms for meetings I totally was staring looking him up and down and waiting to see if he was going to "notice" me, nope, dude must be straight! ha
I worked out after school today, back day, and got to see my buddy up there wearing my favorite white shorts. Today he had a looser underwear on so that it wasn't all up in a bundle in front, but instead hanging down one direction showing off its length and size right there through the flimsy shorts. good man! we chatted up a bit but he spent a bit of time off the floor having to get a lock cutter once he realized he locked his keys in his locker. ahh well. I went in to see if he had any luck with it, and he was putting a new lock on the locker and all. he had to start lifeguarding after a while and was telling me how he was only get about 20 minutes more or working out before he had to shower up and get changed to work at 6pm in the pool. we said good bye later and i practiced great self control as he left and then I finished up my last sets and went over to put on my jacket and backpack from the peg I leave them on over by the door of the weight room. I say selfcontrol because I KNEW I could probably go into the locker room with the "going to the bathroom" excuse to walk through but really jsut to see him strip down for the shower. but like I said. NOPE ha ha. bring on the weekend, hope everyone is having a good week.

nu shooz

guess what I just found on porch when I got home from school today.... I ordered a pair of these from an online source of Medium brand footwear for my NYC bud's birthday, and what with the free shipping and all, went ahead and got myself a pair. I already have a pair in brown and figured I might as well get one in black. woo hoo. :)

choose your groomsman...

Monday meetings

finished supper and thought I'd post about the stock club meeting I got back from earlier. man what a busy day teaching all day then getting home in time to get to the gym before having to drive over to the bank. We have 2 new members, the daughter-in-law and son of one of the retired teachers in our group, so now we are 7 members and one absentee member, so that's $400 a month coming into the club to invest. We did the usual talk back and forth about what to invest in. we sold our Pender morgan stock since post offices are going to be closing, and put all our fund this month into Kraft foods stock. Pretty much we invest in stuff with a dividend that runs steady. ALthough another retired teacher and I (she was actually my teacher in middle school), we always bring up stuff that we think might improve and go up up up, ha.
She likes WRE a real estate company, and I was talking about TCAP which had a high dividend but our group leader said was like a loan shark money lender for companies who didn't have credit to go to banks. something like that, but I've been happy with my own TCAP stock as far as dividend pays since I bought it last June. okay enough boring talk. TOday a kid gave me his cell phone, cord, and a thumb drive asking me to please put the music from the drive onto his phone. Bunch of spanish Mexican music stuff I suppose. of course the first thing I did was check out his photo file and video file, ha ha, no no, no porn. haha, but I did check, then I put a picture of me at school that I had on my laptop onto his phone, and then some other random photos of the students just for fun. I then transferred quite a few music files onto his phone and ran out of time before plan time was over etc etc.
my class meets in a room that used to be a storage room and doesn't have any vented heat or air. So I leave a little 9 inch tall space heater on all night to sort of try and keep the room warm. It usually works quite well except with it being in the teens last night, forget. the room was freezing cold. So all day I had class in the office workroom which we use in between the two other ESL classes. It's not too bad because I only have 7 in one class and 8 in the other, so we just sit around the big table in the middle. I just didn't have a board to write on but still not a prob. :)
I'll have to take a picture so you can see what I'm talking about, it's not too bad, there is a window in the storage room and it's not all that big but big enough for a few tables and my students. I also have all sort of things hanging up all around the wall from my travels. ha. I actually had a really great day, thank God for that. And tomorrow is another really long day, right after school I'll drive to the community college and plan an hour or so in the adjunct office, then we have back to school dinner/training/meetings from 5-8:30..
BTW,, who all saw the Jody Foster speech on tv last night on the awards show? I wasn't really watching but I flipped by it a few times and caught that part. was so weird, interesting, awesome. THing is I've always loved Jody Foster, From all her kid movies and NELL,and some other classic movies I can't remember just now. I haven't seen the one with the moths and the serial killer, cause I don't watch those kind of movies putting crap like that in my mind. ha anyway, thing is I go crazy for super smart people, Randy Potts is like that, super sharp and well spoken and thoughtful. Check out her speech if you find it on Youtube. she sort of came out but also made all sorts of other statements about privacy and not having to come out etc.. something like that.

gay twins

I don't watch this show, 'cause for one thing I don't really like him doing a talk show so blah! and OVER! but anyway, anyone see this interview? how interesting... also they have hot accents. ha :)

hubba hubba hubba...

thanks to Rex at Speedorex blog for posting these, I HAD to share 'em here, check out his awesome blog linked below on the right..

more sun day

did you guys get your butt out of the house and to the gym today? I did. took a break from flipping channels on tv and the ball games going on. New England is going now and doing just fine, ;). gym buddy C was up there today working out, lil chunky hunky dude. was working his arms today, I was working shoulders. That kid is fun to talk to what with his very slight stutter and all. I sometimes feel awkward about how to end the conversation and get back to working out, but I'm getting the hang of it. he was looking great in his shorts today. I think have more muscular legs helps push everything out in front a little better. I think my package has a better effect the bigger my legs are too, I dunno. anyway, was watching some football and some Star Trek on tv while warming up on the treadmill. I always warm up a good 30 minutes or more usually walking, sometimes running. then I'll go lay on the mats in the stretch area and stretch out really well and then do lots of abs. sometimes I just make up stuff for the abs. I try and do anything I can think of to work out abs while laying around over there. One thing I'm finishing abs with now is something I used to do when I was overseas. I would bend down on my knees and turn to one side and pick up a ball and then push myself up and twist lifting the ball up over my head to the opposite side, going back down and then back up etc.. 10 reps then from the other side. Next I get my work out gloves on and usually always start with a set of chinups but the kind where its the two grips coming out perpendicular to you from the bar.. I hate to carry on about being single but it sure sucks. I was just thinking this morning what a great parent I could have been. THis may be why God didn'te give me kids, but I knwo I would have been very aware of needs and tried my best to prepare things like clean clothes, money for things, breakfast ready etc etc.. Even as a spouse I know I would also have been a good pair. looking out for the other like putting things away, making sure something is clean and/or ready/ironed. getting meals prepared, reminding and being aware of important dates etc etc.. That's what I imagine anyway. On the other hand, maybe I imagine having a wife is sort of like that anyway, caring for meals, and keeping stuff kept clean, laundry done etc.. not to stereotype genders, just that's the model I was raised with.
I went to lunch with my folks after church this afternoon which was nice. My dad is a little more friendly and talkative as he gets older. in fact today he said he'd like me to come by there sometime to go over finances and how he pays bills in case mom is left behind and doesn't understand how to handle it all. Gee Whiz DAD! I guess it's good to be prepared but you know how I hate facing realities of losing people. like the post about my diabetic friend in AR. I've told my parents and my AR buddies that I'm no longer praying for a spouse and kids, from now on my prayers are straight up for WISDOM. wisdom wisdom wisdom, and the self control NOT to share any wisdom unless ASKED! ha because I usually always have an opinion and have learned that you don't always have to share it. :P hope eveyrone's having a nice relaxing weekend. I'm about to cook up my usual steamed broccoli and cashew nuts for dinner, maybe a banana and then of course a bowl of Trix cereal. slurp. I plan to google some crockpot recipes tonight for chicken breasts. Thing is now that I'm working out more I want to get a bit more protein in my diet and thought I'd use the slow cooker a friend gave me to cook up some meat and stuff while I'm gone at work during the day. maybe I'll check pinterest

um... hello!

sun day

man I love Scarlet Johansen, love love love. Just now watching her on CBS Sunday morning. Of course I'm a huge Woody Allen film fan, and then the Avengers movie, come on! I'm glad to know there'll be another. Oh yeah also love the movie Lost in Translation. And while I'm throwing movie titles out there, the Korean film the Host, which has nothing to do with Scarlet btw. I got out of training early yesterday in time to get back to my side of the city and have lunch at my usual pizza place. It took them too long to get out my lunch special and so they made me a small, which means I have the second half to eat for lunch today. yum! also made it to the gym yesterday to make up for missing Friday. Friday I got an email from my friend A, and she had a move job since the weather was so nice. extra $100 ching ching. lots of football to watch this weekend and doing laundry. Otherwise just getting stuff ready for this next week. Getting back to work last week wasn't too completely awful. I think I was dreading going back only for the fact that I really enjoy being on break so much. ha! even now I'm dreaming of all the free time I'll have once summer gets here. :) I'm still looking into doctorate program, the cohort from OSU turned out to be a cohort of teachers taking classes in OKC but not free! ugh! SO I'll continue to consider options. THe adjunct professor meeting is this week so I will also talk up my supervisor a bit about whether there will be an opening or not coming up there. my dream job of course. I'm also looking forward to SPRING BREAK and hopefully another trip to NYC. ahh yeah! cheers
