the Apollo has landed.........

Hello from Michigan!  I'm in Walled lake west of Detroit.  had a very long day driving here yesterday. Curt, yes we did just drive by Chicago without going to the city. our path was from st louis up 55 and then to 80 going through Jolliet and then 94 up through kalamazoo on our way to Lansing where we met the ex gf's relatives for dinner before an hour drive over to where her parents live.
We had lunch in Tinley Park along the way and had lunch at Ed & Joe's Pizza place. we both orderd the grilled chicken panini and were served the Waldorf Chicken panini instead.... the waitress purported there was only one on the menu and we didn't make a fuss. it was really good, but T hates bleu cheese so I guess suffered through. ha anyway. good nice quick lunch and a cute little town to stop by... our next stop was because we needed a bathroom break and this was near Michigan City.  She was getting frustrated that there weren't nice big truck stops along the way right off the highway. ha so she followed a Mcdonald's sign at an exit which took us 3 miles W into Michigan City, and then the guy at the gas station there, when we asked, said the lake was just 2 minutes more west etc...
Well I'd never seen the great lakes and T said was saying well yeah lets go! She was convinced that the time zone had already changed on her phone and that we were making excellent time and had the free time. (we didn't as we found out later.... ha).
But it was well worth it when we hit near the lake, we weren't sure where to park, and couldn't see anything, we ended up in a sort of neighborhood just parking and getting out. walking toward the dunes down a street of apartments and lake type little cabins and houses, and then found a sandy path. up the hill and !!!!! the lake!!!! so beautiful and big!!! wow, I loved it an nice long sandy beach and a light house north of us and water water everywhere in front. it was Lake Michigan!  so we'd already taken our shoes off walking up and down the grass covered sand dunes. we walked around and took many many pics. it was a lot of fun and the weathe was all overcast and cloudy and calm and beautiful and relaxing and blue/grey.
got back in the car and continued on our way... she called her mom to say we'd be there in a couple hours for dinner around 630 and her mom said, that's 730, and I pointed out that her car (subaur outback btw) clock said 4:25 and so we were still an hour behind, oops. ha no big deal, we just arrived later than she'd planned and met up for dinner at Chedder's.  straight home to her folks' and then I crashed!!
up this morning and ready to be shown the town the next couple of days. this is my first to cross the Mississippi by land and go so far east.  I have no idea what they all have planned for us to do but I'm just along for the ride. T and I had many more intimate discussions yesterday in the car. for example how I go 2 to 3 days in "control of my domain" if you know what I mean and how she goes about once a week. strange convo, also she asked me the usual questions about being gay, and what's the hardest part about not being gay or something like that... also we discusses living single and her getting married again and me growing up not seeking the whole relationship with guys because of my confusion and what I want now whether I could still have one with a guy or girl etc... discussed her marriage and divorce.  discussed what we agreed on married men being faithful to the commitment made whether they lusted for other women or men, and I tried to explain where as she thoughe men thought about sex every minute of the day as having sex with any woman they saw or touched wasn't exactly that, and how I thought it meant that guys are capable at any random moment to think of sex during the day and that didn't mean always have sex, but it could mean just look that body, or body part, or what would that looks like naked, or what are they like during sex? or picturing people having sex with other people, anyway, my point was that she thought every man thought about having sex with anyone that crossed their path all day long. ha just thoughts.

You must be from OK if you thought Tinley Park was cute. Anyway, glad you saw the lake. Did you see Chicago in the distance? You can from Michigan City if it's very clear out. Now you must come and visit Chicago. So much to see & do.
