almost over...

Hey just sitting here watching One Republic perform at the Oklahoma benefit concert on NBC tonight... almost started crying along with Miranda Lambert who just performed and started crying and not sing a few lines... awwwe...
anyway busy week moves along, only one more day with kids tomorrow. woo hoo!!! can't wait.
I got my truck yesterday. great day! On the way to work I drove by this guy walking and hitch hiking and I was only about 2 or 3 miles north of my school and felt guilty just passing him by in the escort with everything empty but me in there.  I never feel bad in my old Ranger since I have the passenger seat full of stuff anyway. ha, anyway, so I turned around and picked him up saying I wasn't going far, and turns out the street he was going to is the same as my school. in fact on the way he said he went to that school but didn't finish because of medical reasons and got his GED instead... anyway his stepdad didn't make it to take him to a job so he was walking back from downtown, something about missing a bus etc.... that was my good deed for the day. :)
so this is how the truck thing went down. after school I drove to the bank south of OKC and met the guy with selling my new Ranger who drove out from Shawnee.  We signed all the papers and stuff, and then I drove him back to Shawnee in the truck, man was he a talker, good old 84 year old guy grown up here in Oklahoma all his life.  then I headed back to OKC and over to southwest of town where my sister lives. I had dinner with her and family which was really nice, and then I drove her back to the bank which was just 5 miles east of her house actually...so she could drive her daughter's car back home. worked out nicely and I got home by 730ish. lond day but I got a truck. felt good and weird driving it to work this morning, but I'll get used to it.  I like the way both Rangers look in the drive, I sure hope I can get a transmission replaced in my 2000 Ford and keep driving that around town, we'll see how much $$.
I spent today getting things straightened up and organized at work, stuff thrown away, lots of stuff to get graded tomorrow. ugh.... when I got home from work I found a message on my machine from the college. a second interview. so we scheduled it for tomorrow at 4pm... breathe in breathe out breathe in breath breath breathe..... I'm not sure what the second interview will be but I'm ready to defend myself whatever questions they want to ask!! better believe it. I'm hoping it will involve talking to someone higher up in the college maybe? I can't imagine it's with the same 6 people but we'll see....I can't begin to tell you how awesome it would be if they were able to offer me the job tomorrow. I keep imagining if I'd just starting tearing up right then and there. ha or if I'd play the keep a secret game all day Friday with my teaching staff at my current job. ha ha.. but I'm not getting my hopes up, I have to be prepared to take what comes my way. doors open or shut. whew...
My sister and family is actually at the benefit concert tonight downtown, is why I'm watching. I'm trying to decide about going down with the church Saturday morning to help out, or if I want to wait til I'm out of school and then I can just go down and help out weekdays when there are less people...check out the concert on NBC tonight if you feel like helping out.

Dan,
Consider salvaging the vehicle if you can't fix it for what you want. Look up salvage companies on the internet. Insurance companies do it all the time. I would never keep a 2nd veh if you want to do more with your money. Cars are a depreciating asset. No value other than taking you to and from.. Just my opinion..
