gun show

what up saturday...

well I'm off to AR for a few days. I stayed home after school for a move job and to just enjoy my Friday evening, also I wanted to hit leg day at the gym and then mow last night. I swam laps this morning and dug up some plants and cleaned up etc etc... now after pizza lunch I hope to hit the road. I'll have a quite a bit of packing to do, plant bulbs to throw in the back of the pick up to share with some friends up in AR. all the gifts I bought for my bud's kids last July while I was in Dallas, and a Christmas gift that's been sitting in the back room for my ex gf, that another person gave me last time in AR and I forgot to drop it off before leaving town. ha. anyway, not to mention getting some clothes out of the dryer to take with me. And don't make fun of me, but I also like to bring my cashews and broccoli for dinner AND i ALWAYS bring my cereal and instant oatmeal with me. I also always grab a bar of BEE and FLOWER Sandal Wood Soap to bring with me to use and then leave behind. My friends always comment they like using it and notice when it runs out. I get boxes of it at the asian grocery food store way cheaper than on the shelf at whole foods. I usually always forget something, never fails.
I made it through the week all right, my mind is on one girl student who was causing some trouble in class this week. over all she's very sweet and good, but she also likes to make quick little joking comments in Spanish during class and make the class laugh. I called so that if it happens again she gets to visit the ast. Prncpl. What I was thinking about is how she can't read in Spanish or English, and how her parents took her back and forth from Mexico and USA and how she was here for a few months in 6th, skipped 7th completely, was here for a few months in 8th. and now she's a 9th grader. Plus for whatever reason she's currently living with a foster parent !?!?!?! So really , I'm calling this foster lady and what exactly is she supposed to do to get the kid to behave, plus she's probably so lost in class without being able to read, no wonder she distracts class. UGH, again she's not really a bad kid, and our staff will do all we can to motivate her in helping her to catch up learning how to read. Sometimes I wonder if my ESL degree should have included social work classes. ha... the woes of illegal immigration.[ ILLEGAL that is, don't confuse that with good ole legal immigration. A lot of propaganda will leave out the ILLEGAL word and claim people are AGAINST IMMIGRATION OR IMMIGRANTS point blank. That's not the case. For example we have some Burmese refugee immigrants at our school and they can't learn English fast enough!! such determination, same thing for all the middle East and African kids at other schools in our districts. And I know many legal Mexican immigrants with families, working hard to support their kids and get them graduated from high school perhaps even college!... Yes this country is a country of immigrants, we all learn English and get along, adding to and taking from the great mix of American culture. okay I'm getting way sidetracked..] anyway....
a good work week, but I'm still very very ready to move into the admin, no word yet on the chances of that. another facilitator in the district came by yesterday, this guy is "part of the family" as we reading these sort of closet blogs might say, I have not idea if realizes anything about me or not, but I look forward to working with him. (btw rugbysex, he's younger and a dancer and not my type at all and already has a boyfriend, I like him because he's super smart and an excellent ESL teacher...ha).
I finished watching the final harry Potter movie this week. WOW. what an ending. and great film. great effects. great storyling coming full circle and all that. WHOOOOO WEEE! last night I watched Radio City Days, a Woody Allen Movie, but I'd suggest Bullets Over Broadway before watching that one. no spottings of my favorite gym inspiration guy at the gym this week, but that's cool, makes you look forward to the random run ins all the more. :) I better start getting stuff packed into the cab of my pickup so I can leave right after lunch. cheers all enjoy a great Labor Day Weekend!

Do not pity the dead, Harry, pity the living. Above all, pity those who live without love.

if you don't know what the words "soviet union" means, well then you might just believe that it was "techno-house" music that tore it apart. ha ;)

and now for something completely different....?

long day

busy days, made it to the gym yesterday for leg day, a quick dinner, then back to the city for a move job with A. home by after 8pm and mostly spent the rest of my time getting things ready for today. had to get a shirt and tie out and stuff to wear today. another long day working today, then off to the community college. I have a gym bag packed. I am going to get a work out in at the school before my office hours. since I was supposed to get a leg day in Fri and didnt I made it up and then working out today usually I skip it on TUesday. plus I like checking out the weight room at the college now and then, and locker.
Did anyone happen to see the PBS special SUnday night about ice cream. yum! I couldn't stop watching, i want to go to each place and try their icecream.. ha I stayed up too late Sunday night and after the ice cream special I flipped channels and found some interesting show about a presidential candidate on a plane, and some woman appears from the future that only he can see, and convinces him he's going to be president only if he jumps off the plane cause it's going to crash. twist ending, it was the new "outer limits" show.
I'm focusing on Romans 8:26,27 all this week. I'm also deciding what sort of travel plans to make. I'm not going to move forward on both trips until I get moved if and when to the admin position. cheers.

underwear under there

fix 'em upper

yesterday was awesome. L and his gf E came by around 130 and we visited for about an hour and I showed him his school's yearbook from when he was 8th grade, and some old photos I had from the class field trip that year. we did a lot of catching up about other students, and then we talked about how he and the gf met etc etc.. eventually went to lunch at a sandwich place and I think they got out of town by 330 or 4. I couldnt' keep smiling and the time just went by way too fast. I only wish I'd had made some chocolate chip cookies to send them off with. I did burn L a CD with mainly Django Django album on it and then some other random songs like "light a roman candle" by Fun, "There's Only Love" by Ewart and the Dragon, "Heartbreaker" by Metronomy, and "Waters of March" by Art Garfunkel and various others that would fit. How cool she had taught 2 years in Japan doing ESL and is now going to grad school for International Relations in CO. L is returning to NYC to check on his acceptance to Parsons Design school while he waits to see if he can go to grad school in Milan, Italy. something like that. I remain proud of him, and I'm completely thrilled he found a girl who has very strong church upbringing from Little Rock AR. ha
the other former student J, who lives in NYC that I visited last year, he called Saturday and said he and the gf now live in FiDi and the couch is ready for me to stay on anytime, we discussed me coming up to visit again the December. how awesome instead of a train ride in from Brooklyn, I'll be just a block from a Subway stop and tehn on my way anywhere uptown in manhattan. shweet! I'm going to start saving now, choose a weekend and get that plane ticket purchased. that way, by the December gets here the charge card will be back down to zero and ready for Christmas shopping.
Actually, I don't know if I ever mentioned it, but I pay my charge card down to zero every month. it's the only way to live. other than big expenses and emergencies. Discipline people, you can do it! easy enough if you don't have the cash, don't buy stuff. ha however like I said, at Christmas time or for big expenditures, I will charge and carry a balance over a month I it come to that. I'm also wanting to attempt getting up to DC for fall break (we get out for 2 weeks)....
I haven't mentioned it, but my sister wants to set me up with a teacher she works with, the girl is younger than I am, wants children, and allthe ladies at my sister's work think we'd be a good personality match. I said I wasn't interested but they said we have to at least go out for yogurt or a quick pizza etc...I guess that's why it's a good idea to come out to family. but when you're not even comfortable being out to your self why would I be out to my family etc... I mean for example, on an online chatline profile I had a ways back, it read as NOT OUT. And I'd always think, well gee I know most of the gay community in OKC and go to parties and see them and used to try out some of the gay clubs now and then with buddy S. but so does that mean I'm out or not out. or does it mean not at work, or to family, etc... all my best college friends pretty much know, except my best friend who's married with 2 kids that I visit in AR all the time. anyway, I also though how could I even seriously consider it, what with if I married a girl, having all my closest friends from college saying in their minds, does she know, is he really happy etc etc... although I ahve to say it makes me pretty sad thinking so badly I want to do it have kids, cut off all my old friends and just start that new dream life. ha ha.. don't scold me, I'm just talking thoughts here, I'm not an idiot, I blow off the set up.
I am off to lunch with mom and dad just now. PIZZA! cheers.

the great outdoors....
