Need Supply and Comune

I've been shopping this online site lately getting ready for fall, NeedSupply.com. ALthough some of the stuff is crazy pricey, I like the overall style of the choices. I saw this long sleeve black shirt that shouted out to me as a great layering replacement to a shirt I lost in an airport in London. I don't even like to think about it, it was my favorite wear everywhere pullover that just fit so well. A black synthetic material with a zip up collar, sort of athletic fit. Color never faded one bit! black black - and be pulled on top of
anything I wore on cooler mornings, just classic etc... anyway, I have a white one just like it that I still wear all the time. I remember running with my carry-on in one hand a few bags in the other through the Heathrow airport trying to get a boarding pass and then to the gate, realizing once I was on an elevator it was gone. I had foolishly tucked in between the handles of my carry-on sort of draping over the top...previous trips I'd tied the sleeve in a loop around knot... but this time, no... and it fell and was lost... I took the elevator right back up, traced my steps back to the counter, back to the elevator... hundreds of people walking back and forth of course. and of course it was gone. ok well anyway thanks for listening. Just makes that rushing around the airport making time heart beating and carrying extra weight while doing so all the more awful! but I've since grieved and accepted the loss. ha.
ok, well back to latest purchase the shirt in the photo. It was hard to decide size large or medium and I'm really glad I went with a large. although the model in the pic is 6'2 and wearing a M, I could tell his shoulders probably weren't as broad as mine and plus with long sleeve shirts I'm always better going with a large. Abercrombie & F, when I used to wear A&F, was about the only brand that was a good fit in Medium for me with long enough sleeves as well.
The shirt has a sort of terrycloth feel to it, except the sleeves which are reversed. I have a long neck and only wear crew neck, never V. but I really like the little triangle detail at the collar on some crewnecks like this one has. can't wait to wear it this fall! I'm posting a few extra pics of other shirts I liked but withheld temptation of blowing my budget. WHen you are planning a trip to NYC, you must always remind yourself- why buy anything here or now? I'm going to in NYC in a few months!!! :)

p.s. if you visit the site, the size options don't show up in internet explorer on my computer, so use another browser... just fyi

crazy week...

busy week from the get GO.. rain Monday morning so no swim, got to swim Tuesday morning and from then on was a marathon day.. taught all day, then went to the art museum downtown to check out the 134 public works project artwork (its last week and I didn't want to drive all the way home and then back to the city) then back to work from 5-7 for OPEN HOUSE night, and I was supposed to have an adjunct professor meeting that started at 5pm but I went after open house at seven, left by 8:30 and came home and CRASH. zzzz ha
this morning more rain so no pool. tomorrow morning definitely good for a swim! :)
I've been getting up at 520 and off to the gym with clothes shoes razor etc...
then back home for breakfast and get ready for the day and news.
Today at work we were called to a meeting with 2 of the new vice principals. they were informing us of changing the ESL program. I just sat there and graded paper and listened as our coordinator tried to defend the program and ask all these questions etc etc and balk and something along the lines of "we all have our masters" and the vp saying " I have a masters, I feel like you're being confrontational" and then the coordinator backing down and talking a bit quieter and calmer.. ha the other guy on our team of 4 is a cuban guy and he doesn't want to change AT ALL. and he's so excited that he loses some his ENglish and starts talking with short phrases of ideas and disconnected words. I just sat there waiting for them to let the VP's have their say. basically what they want to do is do away with all the ESL classes and put us in the mainstream classes and "co teach" with the core teachers and this is supposed to help the students make better test scores. oops, I mean acquire ENglish faster? hmmm I'm actually just sort of showing up tomorrow and Friday and taking it as it comes. the coordinator plans to get the district bilingual dept involved. I'm just going to do what I'm told. and to be honest, I'm fine with losing my classroom and classes. I mean no more lesson plans or grades, just facilitating the teachers and helping kids in their math classes. The only thing I'll be disappointed about is if they combine all my classes into a bigger class and have me do inclusion the rest of the day. ESL class is not as effective once you hit over 15 students much less more than 20. tonight I met my bud S for dinner at Big Truck Taco. if you live in OKC. CHECK IT OUT. YUM YUM YUM.

neon lights are bright...

some nice big fun news here about How To Succeed...
please if someone goes to see this in Janurary let me know how it was...
I just bought tickets for WarHorse for the Thursday night I'm in town with my sisters this December... next I'm considering a musical. I wanted to throw out a question for someone's first broadway musical... Anything Goes?? or How to Succeed...?? I was thinking whichever one I don't see with my sisters I'll try and get a ticket to while in NYC in October... I'm thinking they are both pretty big on song and dance, right? one more question left orchestra row A through F... or... center row N. I was thinking center might be better to see all the dancing whether it's further back or not. I went ahead and booked us at St James Hotel just for the location and all. Thanks tons to sigma chi and bo and anon for the suggestions. I will check out the element while there OCT for future ref... also sigma, I stayed at the Jane last time I was in NYC , you're right it's actually pretty nice clean and affordable. next time I'm in NYC and in need of a place, I'm going to book the Jane again or perhaps try St Marks. Unless I end up meeting the man of my dreams in NYC of course--- at the Lacoste store, WHitney, or Gym bar. You know that ex-jock who now edits at the New Yorker and plays in a jazz band every now and then on weekends in NYC, raised Christian in the Midwest and rarely thinks of dating guys or girls, but when he meets me, just has to make a move... If I meet that guy, I could just stay with him on future visits, right? ha the great thing about October is I'm staying with a friend in Brooklyn. Should be a fun fall break weekend before halloween... hope all are enjoying their SUnday. I'm a bit restless today for some reason. cheers.
EDIT - COMPLETELY making it a goal to get tickets to Relatively Speaking for my October trip if at all POSSIBLE. Ethan Coen? Woody Allen? the actors involved??? if even possible for this okie.......ahh yeah!!! :)

high on "life"....

hey poser...
