hello Arkansas

I'm in Arkansas seeing my best buddy from college j who just had a baby boy on Monday. they already have 2 girls so I was super excited about his son... woot. After teaching class Wed I hit the Baby Gap store at the mall and bought tons of stuff 0-3, 3-6 and 6-12 months outfits for a baby boy. I hope to be the best uncle ever.. (right up until if I ever had my own kids which may not be likely on the gay road). In fact I drove up here last night and surprised them at the door, hello let's see the baby. :)
they also just moved into a new house a week and a half ago. I brought 3 or 4 rugs that I had from Affghinnstan and not using in my small place for them to use in their house and they were excited for that as well. The new house is in an old central part of town and the old house burned down so the builder made this one craftsman style to fit the street. it's awesome with a wrap around porch to one side, everything square lead paned windows and solid wood stuff all inside etc... great house! it's on a cement outling with a metal beam running under the house for support and some sort of black stuff on the ground under neath as a vapor barrier. so they got the old style they wanted but all new parts. they been living in the same rented 2 bedroom apr for 9 years! fixed rent! so you know the builder was happy to see 'em go ha. he also owned their apts btw.
great time seeing them, came over to my other married friends house to stay the night and talked forever with the wife (who I grew up with in OKC same church etc) and she and I go way way back and she knows everything about my homosexuality ventures. we discussed tons as always whether I could marry a girl and if not how to find a guy etc etc... although think she'd rather set me up with a girl blah blah.
her husband mentioned how he's going to one of our best friend's wedding this next weekend and that no one of the groom's party (are clique from college) really approved etc... but ahh well. the whole gang is showing up and most likely the groom's privates will be all marked up in black sharpie marker. (this is something going back to one someones birthday in college and then carried on to weddings as payback etc so sort of a tradition. ha) I wanted to go but can't make it back from a wedding on a Sunday in Indiana and teach class on a MOnday.
this morning I ran around town dong errands with my friend and his two girls, now about to have lunch with a fellow college ENglish major who happens to be in town while I am. so cool. and the rest of the day just try to see what friends in town I can, and later hang out some with the ex gf who lives in town. etc.. is really great to get away while I had a few days off from the water park.
hope all are having a great summer so far!
