compclass monday

had a great day back to work. teaching all the kids and just trying hour by hour to keep their attention, smiling and getting conversation going back and forth about all the snow last week. keep them interested in the ENglish lessons..and then last two hours I taught three new words/concepts intersecting, parallel, and skew... three words, come on kids you can do this!! ha It's funny 'cause I say things to the class constantly which I feel like it falls on deaf ears, so I'm really saying it loud to tell myself why I'm teaching them things like "Next year your classes will all be in English so learning these words will help you understand more....." etc.. alas.
college class went very well, I had this lined up agenda and made it through everything, mostly. started out with a writing task, a quiz, going over chapter 4, peer review activity on their rough drafts, comma correction discussion, then read an essay and discussed. It was an excerpt from the book I've mentioned before "Hands of My Father" by Myron Uhlberg. (anyone read that book yet, it's a wonderful easy interesting read! about a boy raised by two deaf parents, lovingly told...)
next week they turn in their shared experience essays, and then the following week I'll return them and tell them more about myself and share my experience sort of, just the basic background of where I grew up and where I've taught before in a nutshell. more snow coming this week. ready to get to spring!

Naughty boy. There are a few problems with your teratoma or fetus in fetu story, but probably lost on junior college students.

Have to admit you had me on the hook until the last paragraph. Color me gullible?

just a bit of science fiction, although scientifically I know it's definitely lacking any accuracy,ha an actual writer would have researched all the real medical implications. on the anonymous blog I just went for it.thanks for the comments y'all.
