"born this way" blog...

news on this blog was on NPR this weekend. I thought I'd post about it for those interested. regardless of the whole nature/nurture argument. The photos submitted that may or may not show some early sign of sexual identity give the contributors an opportunity to reflect back on early times of their lives and how they came to realize their orientation. Some good glimpses of coming out to self or others.
Most photos, not all, show some young boy or girl in cothes or a pose that may seem sort of girlish or boyish, respectively... The blog states in its purpose that it doesn't mean to stereotype; it exists for fun - just photos that someone may look back at and laugh or chuckle... I'm not convinced that being born gay means you're going to emulate the opposite gender, that's the stereotyping part, there must be difference between gender identity and sexual identity for a lot of gays. Kids dressing up or acting one way or another may be unaware of gender differences to begin with. The photos however are cute and fun to scroll through. but overall, read the stories and accounts and perhaps you'll recall something from your own childhood, with either a giggle or a groan. I linked the photo above, just click on it.
