monday oh
8 am interview, 2 principals 2 teachers at a table with me.... the principal pretty much sounded like "why would you want to teach at a school like this?..." in some of his questions... I mean I wasn't worried about the gangster student body all that much until they started going on about the many students who don't speak English and never graduate etc etc.. and how they weren't a school with a big sports program and were always trying to push school spirit etc...asked me would I go back to my old school if they hired me and why their school... my land. look I just want a TEACHING JOB at any school!!! but overall I have to say I did a pretty good job backing up questions like what would I do my first week with the students, what techniques have become my most effective in the classroom, how would I handle a student coming up to me and saying I don't really like you, etc etc... not to mention the "girls" and "boys" metal detectors entering the school. oh yeah and every door locked that I had to walk around the school trying to find out how to get inside.. oh man, anyway, so I got home by 9:30 and went to the water park on my day off with some friends and her kids. had a great time and got lots of sunburn, then came home to a phone message to call the school. they tell me they have another interview tomorrow but really like my credentials and that they will call me tomorrow to set up the next meeting this week...I guess that sounds pretty good although I'm getting a little nervous what I'm getting myself into here... but I'm trusting God's will above all and ready for the definitely challenge. steady income and dental insurance again could be coming my way. ha

Dan,
I will pray that this job is the right thing for you right now. They clearly like you and you can bring a lot of experience to the table. Good luck. God is in control. I look forward to the details. I have a family of teachers/administrators/principal/director of..... So I 've heard how difficult it is, stay strong.
Nate
Best of luck!!!
My interview went pretty well I think. I am not going to analyze it because I tend to do that, and then dislike myself for what I did or didn't say. Let's just say that they were pushing an agenda at this school I'm interviewing at, and I think I meet everything they're looking for to help them do it, and help their kids.
that's great dan! please keep us updated. there are a lot of people out here rooting for you. you're placing ur trust in the right "Man."
cheers mate!
Good luck! I'm sure u will get the job.
I'm nervous for you, Dan!
My mom is a teacher in a low-income neighborhood and I always worry she's going to get attacked one day (as it happened to one of the other teachers there).
But as you said, you need the health insurance and a job, so you do what you have to do!
