shorts or pants

I need to comment on this pic and mainly the guy on the right. Is he wearing shorts of pants? or did the two guys trade or what, I mean I like the tight shorts on the guy on left and all, but he's got the long legs for whatever the short guy is wearing. and then the long-waisted short guy would probably look really hot in something shorter, where you can see his knees. ok now's the time to say, I'm fascinated somewhat by the male pedal pusher look. I'm not sure what term to use, but it's definitley hit OKC at my school , a year behind NYC but that's usual. I'm seeing pants, long shorts, jeans whatever with the legs cut off and rolled up. It sort of amazes me how in style that is. I guess I have a hard time thinking of how gay it looks from when I grew up avoiding all things gay. ha My usual mantra on this issue is the only guy who should wear pants above his ankle is either younger than age ten, or he is a fisherman on a beach somewhere in the caribean where his job involves a lot of wading. ha ha. anyway, that's my fashion rule, but alas the trend is here! now the really funny thing is to see the guys balance getting the length below the knees just right correlating to the sag of the waistband just below the waist. go men, work out them calves and fashion forward!!!

I was in France a few years ago when men's capri pants were in style there. Some guys wore them in the US, but not many. I always thought they looked kinda gay, but hot at the same time.

What an absolutely magnificent day! 80 degrees, not a cloud in the sky, bone dry and a gentle breeze blowing. Went for a drive in the river hills. I drive a sportscar with a VERY stiff suspension. It's great fun to drive but not so great on my aching back. This was only my second time behind the wheel since the broken back. As I listened to James Taylor singing in the background, I thought: God's in his universe and all's well w/ the world. Just think, I could've been paralyzed with a dribble cup in which to drool. Not bad, not bad at all. I hope Dan you had a great day, too!
Cheers!

I'm amazed at what guys wear these days. Times change, but much of the current attire would have gotten you beat up years ago and called gay. Hmmm, maybe all men have a gay side! I'm a bit older and remember years ago when men didn't wear flips. You'd see them at the beach occasionally, but when my brother and I saw a guy wearing them around town, we'd say he's wearing girly shoes. Now the guys are clip clopping through the stores in them and wear them more than the women. I'm lovin it though because I have a foot fetish. Thank gawd for flips. LOL!

BTW Dan, I just live up the turnpike in Tulsa and enjoy reading your blog.

I hit my prime - such as it was - back in the 1970's in Chicago. Back then the fashion - at least at the lake front - was very short and tight shorts. This highlighted the shape of the guys and I really liked that look. I used to really enjoy hanging out at Belmont Rocks or Oak Street Beach checking out the hot guys.

I returned to Chicago a few years ago and decided to walk down to Oak Street Beach to see if it brought back memories. Everyone was wearing these long baggy shorts as if they were all ashamed of their bodies. I'm guessing the long and baggy look came along about the time of Ronald Reagan when the nation turned so conservative. Somehow guys began to think there was something wrong with their bodies so they had to hide themselves with reams of shapeless fabric.

I find it odd that guys think it's manly to wear shorts so long and baggy it gives the appearance they are wearing skirts.

I kept hoping for fashion to swing the other way before I was too old to care. Instead we got the saggy look with boxers hanging out.

So how do kids keep those things up? Actually, they don't always. I saw a couple of high school aged kids walking down the main street of Sidney, NY last summer, when suddenly one of the saggy pants dropped to the sidewalk. So there he was in his boxers with his pants around his ankles in the middle of town. At least he didn't look gay.

Yes, I remember the day when guys wore tight shorts up to their crotch and speedos were beach attire. Everything was worn tight. Now they wear these board shorts down to their knees and even at the beach. Of course now it seems like the upper body is where it's at. All the guys are into working out, then running around shirtless. They post all those posing vids online and pix they take with iphones. Straight guys are the vainest.
