saw the new Wes Anderson movie today, "Fantastic Mr. Fox", really enjoyed every scene moment word etc... well done. Of course I'm a wes Anderson fan to begin with ever since Rushmore and from then on. There was a nice message in the film about how being different is a GOOD thing. ha
also, I have to mention here another favorite movie creator. Whit Stillman. I might have mentioned that before. in college I remember renting "Barcelona" and then "Metropolitan" which sort of opened up the whole idea of another way of living in New York City (coming from OKC). really liked both those movies. really sharp clever and well written, although some say a bit too written/scripted. I love it. "Last Days of Disco" I guess was considered sort of a last in the trilogy of Whit Stillman movies. but I'm telling you there's no better during the Holidays film to watch than "Metropolitan". sure it's dated now. I also used to rent the Woody Allen film "September" every September. seriously I know I was an ENglish major nerd for real. If you are into Woody Allen movies at all and haven't seen "Interiors", it's prolly my favorite of the older drama type movies he's made. I dont' pay much attention at all to any movies from WA since THe movie with Helen Hunt, Jade somethihng... you start hearing the same lines/jokes in every movie ha. well plus I don't like the whole cheating storylines since I'm such an idealist I guess.
SO ANYWAY, I walked around the mall a little bit after the movie and checked out the Apple store, Banana Republic, Lego's store, Pottery barn, and went into dillards just to check out shoes and then ended up getting a shirt. even though I planned on not buying a single thing. Especially since I'll be in NYC in one WEEK!!! WOOT WOOT... but anyway, what with the 50% off of already marked 50% off.. I couldn't resist this one marked down dress shirt button up which was going for $14.96. ha. searched online today for gay bars in NYC and just checking out where all I might want to try checking around.
Thanks tons for all the comments and suggestions btw , definitely have my list going.

did you survive thanksgiving with the family...

well hopefully everyone had a great day today with someone you love and gave some thanks. If you think you have nothing to be thankful for, well then just consider that just by living in this country you're already richer than 85% of the rest of the world's population. Today I was thankful to be home with my family, employed, healthy, and free in this country.
overall great time today.... helping my folks out by getting tables set up, having 4 siblings with spouses, 13 niece and nephews, and 4 of their either bf, gf, or spouses, one aunt.. etc you get the picture..lots of people. lots of food... afterwards playing some games, the kind where we're in a big circle and clapping our legs and hands and either counting back and forth to people assigned numbers.... or we throw an object back and forth across the circle of everyone then throw up to 15 things in the same pattern over and over at the same time....stuff like that.
talked and chatted til everyone left, watched the Texas game tonight in High Def and man I have to love my folk's high def tv with both teams in white pants... so nice. ha
crashing now and spending the rest of the weekend doing whatever comes up next and relaxing... ahhhhh. NYC next weekend so hitting the gym all weekend definitely. :)
hope all enjoy a great long weekend.

week away from NYC...

had a friend suggest seeing FELA on broadway. still undecided on the shows. I've already bought a ticket for Finian's Rainbow, but not finding any good seats for HAIR like I wanted alas...
I'm keeping it up at the gym for the last 3 weeks, this one and next and I'll feel up to my usual confidence next weekend. ha. If anyone wants to suggest a great gay bar, I'd rather have that than just random online searches....I am staying in the chelsea area at the Jane hotel. I hope to go to a few bars for some drinks, and stay away from the techno rave dance clubs etc.....
The beard is gone, I left a moustache for a few days last weekend, and got some funny loooks. and to be honest it was pretty funny looking, but I enjoyed it for about a day and a half before going all clean shaven for a party Saturday night. a friend and his wife had a beer tasting party. we rated each beer at 3 separate stations, light, medium, and dark beer. I forget what won, but Singtau came in second. I liked Samuel Adams LIght the best (I was pretty much rating by which one tasted most like Coor's light, I"m no connoisseur... ha ). was an excellent time, one hot married guy, and another muscly HOT dude that pulled up on his motorcycle. fun time.
getting my budget set for the trip next week as well....the hotel, the food, but mainly the shopping, a bit of Christmas gift shopping, but mainly I'm going to look for a pair of jeans, a jacket, maybe a coat, and a few shirts. maybe a scarf or two from a street corner... :).

help him out...

burkman bros in NYC

I'm thinking 'bout checking out this place... I really like their attitude and style. although I could use a nice plaid shirt, not necessarily a shirt-jacket..
