week away from NYC...

had a friend suggest seeing FELA on broadway. still undecided on the shows. I've already bought a ticket for Finian's Rainbow, but not finding any good seats for HAIR like I wanted alas...
I'm keeping it up at the gym for the last 3 weeks, this one and next and I'll feel up to my usual confidence next weekend. ha. If anyone wants to suggest a great gay bar, I'd rather have that than just random online searches....I am staying in the chelsea area at the Jane hotel. I hope to go to a few bars for some drinks, and stay away from the techno rave dance clubs etc.....
The beard is gone, I left a moustache for a few days last weekend, and got some funny loooks. and to be honest it was pretty funny looking, but I enjoyed it for about a day and a half before going all clean shaven for a party Saturday night. a friend and his wife had a beer tasting party. we rated each beer at 3 separate stations, light, medium, and dark beer. I forget what won, but Singtau came in second. I liked Samuel Adams LIght the best (I was pretty much rating by which one tasted most like Coor's light, I"m no connoisseur... ha ). was an excellent time, one hot married guy, and another muscly HOT dude that pulled up on his motorcycle. fun time.
getting my budget set for the trip next week as well....the hotel, the food, but mainly the shopping, a bit of Christmas gift shopping, but mainly I'm going to look for a pair of jeans, a jacket, maybe a coat, and a few shirts. maybe a scarf or two from a street corner... :).

I saw Hair a few weeks ago and got good 1/2 price seats thru the TKTS booth at Times Square, so suggest you try that. It's a decent show. the great numbers are great and the lesser known numbers are lesser known for a good reason. Enjoy.

Actually the Jane is in the West Village not Chelsea...The Gym bar in Chelsea is a good hang bar..gets really crowded on Sat night...Therapy in Midtown is fun also if your up in the theater district and want to go out after a show...Try Century 21 for shopping downtown on Church across from the Trade Center...its a zoo in there, but if you want good designer label stuff from past seasons...its a good buy...

I've always been a big fan of Townhouse and Uncle Charlie's, but then that's just me. I agree Gym is good if you want to catch a game, etc.
