homosexuality and religion today on OUTCAST

Austin's only queer public radio broadcast called OUTCAST had a program last Sunday discussing those in the gay community who may be trying to reconcile their lifestyle and religion. and the perceptions that religious and lgbt groups have of each other. It was a good discussion on the conflict some have being raised part of one culture and then coming out and being part of a completely different culture. Can one in the gay community be part of both?
Check out the podcast if interested at OUTCAST'S website here.

I checked the podcast and finally finished to listen to the previous debate about the policy don't ask don't tell. in the us army.
and why it's much more interesting, because we still have a chance to bring change in the frist debate, for the first one I am more sceptic about it.

Another good item to check is "For the Bible Tells Me So". It's a documentary from a year or so ago that sheds very interesting light from many biblical scholars on the subject. Plus, it's a great DVD all around. It's on Netflix. Enjoy the blog btw.

I tend to believe that in the long term you can't. Personally I decided to stop trying to square a round peg. it's not for me to try and interpret a religion the way I want it. I don't believe in divine transcription, I don't believe in an active god, and I don't believe that if christians created a Theocracy it would go any better than the last time. Therefore I fail to see why I should be bothered to try to live my life in fear of a god that supposedly made me wrong.
I'm firmly in the humanist camp now and think we have to do things for ourselves.
