ambiguous replies

I got an email back from the guy who is working with the contract from lockhheed for the ESL prograam in afgghanistan. (by the way, I purposely put in extra letters so my blog won't come up in some web search and out myself, not that it would, but you never know......anyway..)
so the guys email said:
"You certainly have the qualifications we are seeking for this project."
and tons of info about the year long contract etc etc etc... and then:
"There has not been an award, so I am unable to discuss salaries. However, I am sure that when it is appropriate we can negotiate a very satisfactory compensation package while you are in Afghanistan."
followed by, "best regards, #N#K#J#J$"
so nothing about when it starts, where we are trained, when I'll hear from him again etc etc..
very strange but I figure I do fit the need for teachers, so it prolly hinges on when the red tape and govt contract gets all worked out, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be doing it this year, but he does mention in the email that after the first year, the program would only expand in numbers of students and teachers. SWEET so hope for the future.
also the teacher whowas recruiting me at my school to do this said I should definitely try for 150k in negotiations.
SO is Dan ready to live overseas again and have an adventure? i dunno..........

lots of news on the illegal immigration front today, about job hiring enforcement, but I'm going to hit the sack and spare you all my opinions. ha! Although I will mention one interesting comment on NPR a guy made about when they changed labor laws and all the corporations said not allowing children to work in industry would kill our economy, yet somehow the jobs WERE FILLED. What is gas where you live? 2.65 here in OKC
and a gallon of milk? just under $4. here. yes, these things interest me.

roomie not home tonight so I"m playing some "spring awakening" soundtrack as loud as I want and singing along and enjoying the place to myself before bed. ALthough I sort of miss the guy, he's very consistent in always asking how was my day everytime I come home. pretty nice for a guy who doesn't say much, him, I mean.

Gas is fluctuating between $2.69 and $2.79. I filled up for $2.74 last night.

Milk is $4.35 for the Knudsen brand and $3.35 for the generic brand.

I talked to my friend in MS and he said that milk down there is $5.95 for 2%, a few cents less for 1%, few cents less for nonfat, stuff like that.
