tuesday night with the roomie........

we just finished watching Pan's labyrinth together.
Sunday night we watched "Dodgeball" together too. so it's been pretty nice having someone around to watch a show with. I was impressed he was willing to sit through a foreign film that you have to read.
it's storming and raining and thundering tons here tonight, perfect for going to sleep to.
I ran into my bud, the law school student from Utah, at the gym today. He's made gay friends in the city by now and is going out two night every weekend and had asked me if I was going out this weekend. hell no I told him, why bother? and he agreed that he noticed how boring the bars and scene were here in Okc. ahh well, I know there is a different better social gay scene in OKC, it's just not at the bars, if I were OUT I'd have this city swinging into gear, serious.... or not. I don't know, pretty much it won't ever be like it was in college. speaking of college, I have a test tomorrow for a class I"m taking this summer at the Junior college, not sure if I'd mentioned it, guess I better study some more and then hit the sheets.

btw, anyone suggest some good vacations for me and my gay AUstin bud (we are friends only). he called tonight and set we need to take a trip somewhere fun and interesting and most likely in the US.
ALSO someboday leave me a motivating comment to get back to the gym I've been off for 1 and a half weeks now just running and stretching and doing situps and pullups at the gym. I'd like to get back to my routine of working out but just not feeling it lately. I'll have to plan a trip so I have some motivation to hit it again.....ha

How about NYC? There's plenty of trouble to get into, tons to do, and we can do a blogger roundup happy hour.

Now get to the gym...

California... fly into Ontario on Expressjet and you're only 30 miles from LA, 90 from San Diego, about 40 from the OC and San Clemente, 30 from the mountains, 60 from Palm Springs (roughly an hour from everything).

Or in NorCal there is Yosemite, Redwood Nat'l Park, San Francisco, or other touristy places.

Maybe I'm a little impartial, but California is a great place. I was thinking of why I like living in Cali as I was driving over to Ontario today to meet my mom and sis for lunch.

There is Disneyland, Universal Studios, and Knotts Berry Farm on the amusement park front

Medieval Times www.medievaltimes.com and Pirates Dinner Theater www.piratesdinneradventure.com in the OC as really neat dinner/show restaurants

NBC Studio tour (can see Leno and Ellen being taped if you get tickets)

tons of outlet stores like Ontario Mills www.ontariomills.com or upscale shopping like Victoria Gardens www.victoriagardensie.com

the getty museum with artwork from all the different periods www.getty.edu/museum and it overlooks downtown LA --- been there 3 times and there is sooo much to see

La Brea Tarpits in LA

Natural history and other museums in LA

California Missions

concerts like Snow Patrol at the Greek Theater at the end of July

baseball games and other sports

Olvera street and Chinatown in LA

Huntington Gardens www.huntington.org east of LA... VERY neat and well worth it...

Hollywood... walk of fame... bars... celeb home tours

oh... and the weather (sunny) and the beaches

There's a lovely Midwestern city with a great nightlife situated on an enormous inland sea...and no, I'm not referring to Milwaukee.

Mike is right...tons to do in Southern CA. Could spend a couple days along the beach and looking all around at scenery i.e. people and buildings. Also the bay area is great and tons to do in San Fran. I LOVE spending time in both places you won't be disappointed.

This Sunday is OKC Pride Parade. The bars will be packed with alot of people from out of town.
You might see some new faces.
Just a thought.

oh.. and I second the northern CA trip.
Think you would really enjoy the parks and sites.
The Sonoma Country and Russian River areas are great, too. Both within an hour north of San Francisco.

For eye candy, you can't beat a Gay cruise.

There is a good gay travel magazine called Passport. www.passportmagazine.com

gay travel assoc website: www.iglta.org

Know you don't have to go on a 'gay' vacation to have fun, but thought I'd share these ideas.
